- Magnitude:
- A scale used for expressing the brightness of objects. The northern polar star is about mag 2. The brightest stars are about mag 1, the faintest naked-eye visible stars are about mag 6.
- MOT:
- Mirror On Top, used during grinding / polishing / figuring when the mirror is rubbed over the tool.
- Mount:
- The construction that holds / carries the telescope tube.
